Christchurch Harbour Entrance Buoyage - Update

We had two excellent training days on 17th & 18th April. All the buoyage is back in the Harbour and the Harbour entrance channel is now buoyed. Take care when you think you are clear out at sea as that end of the channel still appears shallow. As ever with Christchurch a depth sounder or fishfinder are very useful.

We ran our first RYA Level 2 course on 3rd & 4th April. Two pairs of red and green navigation buoys marking the Harbour entrance went back in while we were at sea on 3rd April. We had good weather for both days and a light groundswell gave small waves in Christchurch Bay that made it clear where the sand and shingle bar is this spring. We were out at sea for a few hours either side of high water and there was plenty of water.

Good conditions for training and great to be on the water!!
